The 100M Dash – A Course on Success

In 1936 – at the Berlin Olympics – Jesse Owens set the record for the 100m dash with a time of 10.3 seconds.  Today, that time wouldn’t even make the cut.  Below is a link to the evolution of this record.  Let this serve as yet another reminder that the bar continues to be raised, in business, sports, and life.  The 100m dash is a microcosm of life as we know it. Are you working smarter?  Are you demanding more of yourself?  Or are you part of the 96% that never earn elite status?

Evolution of the 100 Meter Dash

Beating Robin Hood

Robin Hood is glorified as a romantic hero who robbed from the rich to give to the poor. Robin Hood was a crook!

The smart money avoids the modern day tax trap through smart financial strategies, but gives to the poor (the ones who deserve it) by choice anyway.

“This may be the turning point your grandchildren will tell stories about years from now: the time you leap over the abyss to the other side of the Great Divide and begin your life in earnest.  On the other hand, this moment of truth may end up being nothing more than brief awakening when you glimpse what’s possible on the other side of the Great Divide, but then tell yourself, “Nah, that’s waayyy too far to jump.”  In that case, your grandchildren will have to be content talking about what delicious cookies you used to bake or what your favorite sports team was.  It will all depend on how brave you’ll be.”
-Rob Brezsny
